A Merry Quirky Christmas!

I promised myself that this blog of mine would focus on my art and process, as well as my thoughts on being an artist.  That will continue, but just for a moment I’d like to share some outside inspiration - TubaChristmas.  You see, as an artist I especially look for those fun, spontaneous and more quirky events throughout the year that motivate me in my creative pursuits.  Some directly influence my art and others help to let my mind wander which in the end leads me back to the need for an open mind to all that can inspire you outside of yourself and even spark a specific memory.  It seems especially around the holiday season, that there are even more of the unique opportunities to take in the talents of others and let it inspire you.  TubaChristmas is just such an event.  I’m late to the TubaChristmas groupies as it were, since they began doing these tuba concerts in Fresno 19 years ago.  This is a national celebration, happening in different places all over the USA.  This local installment, lead by Larry Huck, gives these fun and free concerts at the Manchester Center.  This year’s was today and I went.  Here are my photos.  Click each image for the full size view.

BeeHive Party note:  It was a lot of fun!  I was able to check in with a lot of friends, fellow bloggers and commenters, and had the honor of being pointed out as an invited visual artist showing my work at the party!  Thanks to all who made this happen and thanks for the invitation!  Blog on.
