18” x 24” This 3 dimensional work includes a structured box frame with yarn in different colors stretched across the front part of the box not touching the painting. The chair is meant to appear primitive, it has a thin brown skin outlining it and then a very pink center on both the seat and the back, and you see the little brown legs underneath. This represents me at my most vulnerable, I have the brown skin layer, but I’m pink inside just like everybody else. In this image I chose to make the pink very exposed, as most of the chair is pink. The yarn represents all the things that link together to make me a whole person, the variety of colors reflecting on the many shades of my experiences. It also stands as a layer of protection, but then obviously not real protection as I am always vulnerable since I am human. These are the threads that connect us to other people and other things.
